Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly didn’t take missing out on the Uefa Player of the Year award to former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric very well.
Sky Sports have quoted Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes as calling the decision ‘ridiculous’, in a typical show of pettiness from Ronaldo and everyone around him.
The Portugal international is undoubtedly one of the finest players ever to play the game, though he has long had a reputation for being a bit of a brat as well.
Some would call that an obsessive desire to win, but it can also make him a bit of a sore loser, which is off-putting in comparison to the way Lionel Messi conducts himself in that far calmer and more professional manner.
Still, Diario Gol report that Ronaldo did congratulate Modric on his award victory, saying he held nothing against the Croatian personally, but that he was not happy with Uefa for the decision.
The pair were instrumental in Real Madrid’s third consecutive Champions League final win last season, but Ronaldo has since moved on to Juventus.
Modric is still at the Bernabeu, and also had a superb World Cup with Croatia, helping them reach their first ever final.
