Food For Thought

The seeds you plant are as important as the harvest you reap. Be patient. Germination takes time.

You might not see the fruits of your labor right away, but that doesn’t mean that there won't be any.

All of your actions, like seeds, carry the possibility of a bountiful harvest.

Don't lose hope.  Your actions will eventually germinate into something great.

Food For Thought

Life is not about competition, do not be in a race with anyone; remember,  we may seem to be reading the same book but different chapters at different times.

Did You Know? (DETERMINATION)

DID YOU KNOW?

When George Weah contested and lost the Liberian Election in 2005, a major negative campaign against him from his opponents was that, he lacked proper education.

He didn't even have a High School Certificate though he could speak English, French and Italian. But he didn't relent, and it didn't break him down. Now he has taken care of that over the past eight years:

Following the defeat, he has gone on to obtain his high school diploma in 2006, aged 40, and went on to DeVry University in Florida, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2011 and and on top, has a master’s degree in public administration.

Tonight, the 1995 World Footballer of the Year could be announced as the country's President in the runoff election.

DETERMINATION

Food For Thought

Value every little thing that Lord brings into our life, love God and obey Him.
For with Lord, all things are possible.

But then, each secretly opened another facebook with a different name and pictures.

Somehow they became friends and uncle started catching feelings.

Now uncle Started feeling guilty of using a fake picture and didn't want to betray his new found friend, in case she does agree to come visit him when he asks.

Madam realized her facebook Chyker is Her husband, so she maintained that everything is alright, that she understands, with the hope of running away and deactivating that account.

That was when uncle told her how he's feeling about her and would Want  them to meet ,that he is seriously looking for a wife.

Though she was furious, she just told him she can't make the journey because she is broke.

But surprisingly, he asks for her account number so he can send her money for flight and other things she would be needing for the journey.

She got even more furious, she has been the one footing their bills at home because her husband who is away on a job claims he has not been paid for over 6 months, she even sends him money for feeding.

So she angrily decided to collect money from him, and sent him a cousins account number. And asked him to add something extra that she needs to pay someone to look after her sick mother while she is away.

He sent her a total of 400k.

Immediately which she blocked him and deactivated her account.

Now here's the issue. He came back home one week after that betrayal very sick and temperamental . She knows he is angry, but doesn't care, but then his temperament is affecting her children ,because he is always shouting at them.

Do you think she should give him back the money or not. If she should, how would she explain how she got it?

Food For Thought

Without challenges you cannot unlock your full potential.  Obstacles are opportunities for growth.  The world needs the fullness of who you are and it is through your experiences in life that you unfold into that fullness. How can you demonstrate willpower and strength if your resolve has never been tested? How can you role model love and compassion if you have never faced the opposite? Knowing there is a higher purpose within dark times, is what leads you to be at peace in the midst of those storms, knowing that you are a diamond being forged under pressure.

Food For Thought

Don't be the cause of someone else's problem and misery, be a better person.

Vice President Osinbajo – “Buhari and I are poorly paid”

The President’s and the Vice-President’s pay is low, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo said yesterday.
He criticised the private sector for not respecting the national minimum wage law, which puts the lowest pay at N18,000.

Speaking at the end-of-year seminar of the State House Press Corps at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Prof. Osinbajo said he earns about N1.5m as Vice-President; President Buhari earns about N1.75 million.
To him, the pay is not commensurate with the offices they occupy.
The vice president also expressed misgivings about the remuneration of journalists and lawyers, saying journalists’ case is unique because many media owners make big revenue but simply refuse to pay good wages.
He recalled his brief encounters working with media houses as legal adviser and how in all the months he worked he was not paid despite the irregular hours he put in.
Osinbajo spoke of entry into journalism as not rigorously regulated or enforced by professional bodies because untrained persons are allowed in.

Media Personality Daddy Freeze reacts to Majek Fashek performing at COZA

Media Personality Daddy Freeze reacted to Majek Fashek performing during an event at Common Wealth of Zion Assembly church also known as COZA.

He wrote:
“I am still searching for the sense in this. I am a huge Majek fan, but do I want to see him perform in a church?

How did we get here?

Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought christian altars are supposed to be sacrosanct…

Can a secular musician like Majek perform in a mosque? Have you ever seen an artiste like Majek perform in a Buddhist or Hindu temple? Can Majek perform inside the Okija shrine? or the soppona or ayelala shrine?

If other religions value their altars and keep them sacred, is it out of place to suggest we do the same?

We need to start asking ourselves these questions and we need to start asking them now! ~FRZ

A Student faints, policeman sustains injury as MAPOLY students protest

A female student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, collapsed, while a policeman was injured on Monday as scores of students of the higher institution took to the streets to protest their inability to sit for their second-semester examination since September 18.

The students who launched what they tagged ‘black week,’ said the protest was mainly due to the inability of the students to commence second-semester examination, which was earlier scheduled to commence in September.
It will be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, MAPOLY chapter, had postponed indefinitely the second-semester examination scheduled for September 18, based on the state government’s creation of Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology out of MAPOLY.
The state government also created the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia.
There has been a lingering face-off between the state government and the lecturers over what should be the status and fate of the lecturers in the proposed MAUSTECH and Ogun Poly
The students who wore black T-shirts commenced their protest march at Pansheke, a major terminus to their school, and moved through Oke Ilewo-Kuto-NNPC junction and terminated it at the governor’s office at Oke Mosan, chanting solidarity songs.
Traffic and vehicular activities along these routes were disrupted for many hours.
Some of the students were seen armed with placards with different inscriptions, such as “Bring back our exam,” and “MAPOLY must survive,” among others.
The students said their second-semester examination had been slated twice but on the two occasions, it was postponed.
They claimed they had been at home for three months without the government doing anything about their plight.
The Higher National Diploma students in their final semester lamented that they ought to have joined others who have already been mobilized for the one-year National Youth Service Corps, but they had yet to sit for their second-semester examination.
The students, however, met a detachment of policemen around NNPC junction, which led to a confrontation, as the students were said to have obstructed the vehicle of the policemen.
The policemen allegedly fired teargas canisters at the students to disperse them, and a female student, said to be asthmatic, collapsed.
She was said to have been rushed to the state General Hospital, Ijaiye, for medical attention.
The students later marched to the governor’s office at Oke Mosan, demanding to see him. But the governor was not available.
The Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa; and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Tolu Odebiyi, came out instead, but the students refused to listen to them.
They insisted it was Governor Ibikunle Amosun they wanted to see.
The students got restless and started hurling stones at the policemen, during which one of the policemen, Samuel Daniel, got injured on the head, with the wound dripping blood.
The protest was led by the coalition of the National Association of Nigerian Students, National Association of Polytechnic Students and the National Association of the Ogun State Students.
The chairman, NANS, Ogun State axis, Olawale Balogun, said it was sad that the students had been at home for three months, with both the state government and the lecturers refusing to address the students’ plight.
He said, “We will not stop this protest until the government heeds our call. We are appealing to the two parties to resolve their differences.
“Tomorrow, this protest will continue by the grace of God.”
Meanwhile, the state government has expressed disappointment over what it called “uncivil conduct of the students,” noting they had “rebuffed” every attempt by the government’s delegation to address them.
The Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, speaking with journalists after the failed attempt, said though the government frowned upon the confrontation, “it will continue to interface with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that all issues are resolved.”

She accused the ‘FIA’ crooner’s family of snatching her daughter and refusing her access to the child, while Davido said that they were taking the child to Dubai for a medical checkup.
Dele Momodu to save his cousin the domestic mess, waded into the issue and it turned messy, with Davido calling out the publisher in his song.
