Man United vs Bayern Munich 1999 Treble Reunion Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester Date: Sunday, May 26, 2019 Kick-off: 3pm BST, today

Manchester United fans are in for a real treat today as the Legends of their 1999 Treble-winning season return for a reunion match against Bayern Munich.

A host of former United stars will head back to Old Trafford, which is 20 years to the day since the Red Devils' dramatic Champions League triumph over Bayern in Barcelona.

Mario Basler's sixth-minute free-kick looked set to end United's hopes of adding the Champions League trophy to their domestic double of the Premier League and FA Cup.

However, United super-subs Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer struck a quickfire brace in injury time to complete one of the most sensational comebacks in European Cup history.

The likes of David Beckham, Peter Schmeichel, Gary Neville, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke will all play in today's friendly, with Solskjaer and Teddy Sheringham also included.

Solskjaer's presence will have a slightly surreal edge, given that the Norwegian will be coached at the Theatre of Dreams despite currently holding the title of the club's permanent manager.

While few managers would make way for another in their own dugout, Solskjaer has no problem with United's choice as Sir Alex Fergusonwill be back in the dugout - a return which is sure to cause a few tears among the United faithful given the legendary coach's recovery from serious health problems last year.

Sir Alex Ferguson's 'verdict' on Man Utd's pursuit of Daniel James transfer

Daniel James is reportedly on the cusp of a £15million transfer from Swansea to Man Utd

Sir Alex Ferguson has given Manchester United a thumbs up over the potential signing of Daniel James, according to reports.

The Red Devils are said to be closing in on a £15million transfer for the highly rated Swansea winger, having won the race for his signature ahead of Leeds, Everton andNewcastle .

And legendary manager Ferguson is happy with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer first bit of business as United chief.

“Sir Alex is a massive admirer of Dan James and convinced he is destined for big things," a source told Football Insider.

“He would never say that publicly and put too much pressure on him but he has been impressed by the kid.

Daniel James is on the cusp of a huge transfer to Man Utd

“He doesn’t get too involved in our recruitment but he’s certainly excited by the signing of Dan James.”

Wales legend John Hartson, 44, says that he has not doubt James would be a success with United.

He said: “In recent years, Swansea have sold a complete team.

“Influential players like Lukasz Fabianski, Federico Fernandez, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wilfried Bony have all gone.

“If they are offered in excess of £20million for Daniel, then it’s difficult to turn down.

Sir Alex Ferguson has given the transfer a thumbs up

“It would also be hard to deny the boy the opportunity of playing for Manchester United .

“He was very close to going to Leeds on the final day of the January transfer window for £10m.

“But I believe Swansea pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute because they thought, at that price, it was a steal.

“The transfer was almost over the line. I believe his parents were at Elland Road with the lad, but Swansea then told Leeds the deal was off.

“It wasn’t very nice for Daniel because he had probably pinned his hopes on joining Leeds, who then looked like they were on their way to the Premier League."

Europa League concern for Chelsea as Kante suffers injury set-back

The France international had been on the road to recovery, but the latest knock means he remains a doubt for the final against the Gunners

Chelsea are sweating over the fitness of N'Golo Kante ahead of the Europa Leaguefinal after the midfielder suffered a knock in training on Saturday.

The Blues star had almost completely recovered from the calf strain he sustained against Watford in the Premier League at the beginning of May, but he has now encountered another set-back in his road to recovery.

He had been taking part in preparations ahead of the Europa League decider against Arsenal when he suffered a knock to his knee and his involvement in the game remains doubtful as a result.

Maurizio Sarri had indicated last week that he was optimistic the France international could play a part in the game against the Gunners, so the injury comes as a blow and he will now have to consider alternative arrangements.

Indeed, Kante is not the only concern for Sarri in the build up to the all-Premier League encounter in Baku, with Jorginho also sustaining a knock in last week's open training session.

The Chelsea boss is already without both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who both suffered ruptured Achilles tendon injuries, with the latter having suffered his set-back in a post season friendly match against New EnglandRevolution.

Antonio Rudiger, meanwhile, is out with a knee injury that needed surgery.

There is some good news, however, as Ethan Ampadu has returned from a back injury and the Wales international will likely make the bench for the final.

Chelsea's Europa League clash against Arsenal is set to be played at Baku's Olympic Stadium on Wednesday, May 29.

Sarri has already secured Champions League football for the Blues by guiding the club to a third-place finish in the Premier League, but he will be eager to land silverware as speculation swirls around his future.

"I think we had a good season, with a lot of problems of course," the former Napoliboss told reporters.

"We lost two, three games very badly, but we finished third, we got to the League Cup final, a very difficult competition, and now we have the opportunity to play the Europa League final."

The Italian coach added: "I'm very happy to stay in the Premier League and Chelsea is one of the most important clubs in the Premier League."

Breaking: EFCC Goes After Tinubu Over Bullion Vans During 2019 Election

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday vowed to investigate the National leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu over the bullion vans that drove into his home in February

Although the EFCC has declined comments about whether it had launched an investigation to find out how former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu, came about the bullion vans that drove into his home in February.

Nigerians have mounted pressure on the anti-graft office to open money laundering probe against Mr Tinubu, after the ruling party chieftain was seen on February 22 receiving at least two armoured vehicles believed to be bearing cash.
The development raised controversies because it came a day to the presidential election on February 23.

Mr Tinubu is a senior leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and a strong ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, who was seeking reelection at the time.

Critics said there was no doubt the vehicles were conveying cash to bribe voters with, especially since such trucks are used in Nigeria almost exclusively to convey cash by banks, government institutions and cash-in-transit firms.
