An unfortunate incident occurred on saturday Aug 4th at Rumuapara-Port Harcourt along East-West Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area where four persons were crushed to death by a tanker.
According to reports, It was gathered that the tanker was headed for the Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited located at Eleme near Port Harcourt city when it rammed into the four persons drinking in a bar.
The driver, according to witnesses, lost control of the vehicle, after brake failure, dragging a parked Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) within the Rumuapara junction. It destroyed the building before crushing the four victims with many persons also injured.
Policemen from the nearby Rumuokoro Divisional Police Headquarters, Port Harcourt removed the bodies of the victims after arresting the tanker driver.
