‘Ed Woodward is doing a madness’: Man Utd fans react after club announcement

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced a new commercial deal and Red Devils fans are taking great delight in mocking Ed Woodward.

Manchester United are flying high under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the Norwegian 10 games unbeaten in all competitions since taking charge.

And with the Norwegian busy preparing for Saturday’s clash with Fulham, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been busy off the pitch.

United and Remington, a global leader in personal care, have announced a multi-year partnership that will see the brand become the club’s first official Electrical Styling Partner.

Manchester United’s Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, said: “Remington is one of the most famous and established brands in their field and they are a great addition to our family of commercial partners.

”Our partnership is not only about bringing our fans high-end styling products, it aims to inspire and encourage individuality though powerful activations and campaigns with both Manchester United’s men’s and women’s team.“

And as news of the partnership broke, United fans took to social media to mock Woodward - who has been criticised over his transfer business and managerial appointments in recent seasons.

“Say what you want about his footballing decisions but Woodward does absolute murders out there in terms of sponsorship and revenue generation,” said one fan.

“Don't sack Ed, just have him not handle the footballing side of things.”

“Official electrical styling partner, f*** me. Ed is doing a madness,” joked another.

“Ed at it again,” said another.

“About time. United have been miles behind in the official electrical styling partner department for years,” quipped a fourth.

Solskjaer will be looking to make it 11 games unbeaten when they visit Fulham on Saturday and he’s been boosted by the potential return of two players.

Chris Smalling has returned from injury and the ex-Fulham star may return to the line-up, giving either Victor Lindelof or Eric Bailly the opportunity of a rest.

Marcos Rojo is also nearing a comeback having travelled back from Argentina where he was receiving specialist treatment.

Solskjaer could make several changes with the 45-year-old resting some of his stars ahead of their Champions League meeting with PSG on Tuesday night.
