The Super Falcons of Nigeria Was Trashed 8 – 0 by the Female French National Team

The Super Falcons of Nigeria suffered a shameful defeat in the hands of the French female national team yesterday in a friendly match that was held at the MMArena in Le Mans, France. The Super Falcons who happens to be the dominant female football team in Africa received 8 un-replied goals.
They also received the same defeat at the hands of Norway at the 1995 Fifa Women’s World Cup and Germany in an international friendly in 2010, Goal.com reports.

The friendly which is part of their preparations for the Super Falcons ahead of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers.
It was the new Swedish coach Thomas Dennerby’s first game with the Nigerian Super Falcons.
The last time the Super Falcons played the French National Team was in their first group stage game at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup that was held in Germany which the French National team won 1-0.
France had the first opportunity of the game in the 14th minute but Chiamaka Nnadozie made a good save to deny the French team.
In the 19th minute of the game, Eugenie Le Sommer eventually broke the deadlock with a good finish.
In the 26th minute, Ngozi Ebere for the Super Falcons got the first yellow card for a foul in the game.

The French side continued to create chances and they were rewarded with a goal in the 36th minute as Valerie Gauvin made it 2-0.
On the stroke of half-time, the Super Falcons conceded again as Gaetane Thiney took France’s lead to 3-0 going into the break.
In the 54th minute Desire, Oparanozie hit a powerful shot but was pointed away by the French goalkeeper.
The French player Aminata Diallo took their lead in the 60th minute before Gauvin grabbed her second goal in the 70th minute to give her side a 5-0 lead.
With only 12 minutes remaining, Gauvin scored her third goal of the match. Which made it a hat-trick for her and gave the French side 6-0 lead.
The French were not done as they scored their seventh goal with five minutes left following an own goal by Faith Ikidi.
Marie-Charlotte Leger completed the final goal in the 92nd minute of the match.
