A leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo, will be flown abroad anytime soon for further treatment after he was stabbed during Tuesday’s violent clash at the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) rally.
Rival factions of the NURTW clashed at the Sky Power Ground, Ikeja venue of the rally, killing several persons and leaving several others wounded, including MC Oluomo, who was reportedly stabbed in the neck and side and is currently receiving treatment at EKO Hospital.
Three journalists also sustained gunshot wounds in the fracas.
But MC Oluomo, who is a United States citizen, could be flown to the country to meet a specialist anytime from now.
“He was stabbed in the neck and by the side with what they call makanje (poisoned knife). He is a citizen of the United States, so there cannot be any problem with his medical treatment abroad. In fact, he will be flown out in a few days for better medical care. Contrary to what they are saying, Baba (MC Oluomo) is not dead,”The Punchreported, quoting a close aide of MC Oluomo.
