Jose Mourinho could return to Real Madrid according to the bookmakers
Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho could be set for a return to former club Real Madrid, according to the bookmakers.
Mourinho was sacked at Old Trafford last month after United's worst start to a Premier League season.
Reports suggested over the weekend that the 55-year-old had rejected a chance to manage Benfica.
Instead, he could be heading back to the Bernabeu after previously managing the club between 2010 and 2013 - if bookmakers odds are to be believed.
Mourinho led Madrid to the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey before he left for Chelsea.
Madrid are currently struggling in fifth place following the departure of Zinedine Zidane in the summer and Real President Florentino Perez could turn to Mourinho to save the season.
That is according to bookmakers Paddy Power who have slashed odds on the former Manchester United manager returning to the Bernabeu with pressure growing on Santiago Solari.
Solari replaced Julen Lopetegui back in October but Real shock 2-0 home defeat to Real Sociedad has left him on the brink.
Mourinho's odds have been reduced from 6/1 to 5/2 for a return to Spain with Los Blancos this week.
Other candidates for the role, according to the latest odds, include Antonio Conte (7/2), Joachim Low (6/1), Massimiliano Allegri (7/1), Mauricio Pochettino (15/2) and Arsene Wenger (20/1).
