Gareth Bale is getting trolled by Tottenham fans for his tweet after Real Madrid draw
It’s a great shame that Gareth Bale wasn’t fit enough to feature for Real Madrid against his former employers Tottenham on Tuesday evening.
The Welshman was injured during Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund last month and lost out in the race to be fit for this week’s huge Champions League clash at the Bernabeu.
Bale was subsequently forced to watch from the stands as the two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw.
A Raphael Varane own goal midway through the first half handed Mauricio Pochettino’s side a surprise 1-0 lead.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo - who else? - levelled the scores just before half-time with a composed penalty.
