Bafarawa asks PDP to conduct transparent primaries

A former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa has asked the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to conduct free, fair and transparent primaries ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Bafarawa who is contesting the presidential ticket of the party against over 10 other aspirants said on Tuesday in Abuja after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms that only a level playing field would guarantee the success of the party in 2019.

The former governor who was represented by the Director General of his Campaign Organisation, Sen. Paul Wampana said “victory is for the PDP.”

Bafarawa had rejected the idea of consensus in an interview with newsmen last week, when he appeared at the PDP National Secretariat and obtained his forms to run for presidency.
