Nollywood Actor Femi Adebayo Laments – ‘My name is used to scam people’

Femi Adebayo, in his one minute video that he shared on his Instagram page, warned his fans to stop having a to deal with any internet fraudsters who use his name to carry out their fraudulent activities.
According to him, the video became necessary after his fans hinted that many people have fallen victim of the heinous crimes of these scammers.
The video came with this caption;
Watch til the end – This is the first time I’m making a video on this issue. I don’t want people to fall victim again and lose their hard earned money online.

This is coming a few months after Femi Adebayo dissociated himself from a reality show, internet fraudsters were using to defraud people in his name.
Sources have revealed these individuals has lured innocent Nigerians, by selling the idea of a TV Reality show and demanding they make payment in order to get the entry forms. The popular actor who washed his hands off such activity in a press release through his publicist, wrote;
Please be advised that Femi Adebayo currently has NO RELATIONSHIP with any Reality TV show and isn’t requesting via phone calls, SMS, emails or through social media that anyone makes any form of payment to pick up a form.
If Femi Adebayo were engaged in any activity that requires public attention, he would pass the information across through his official social media pages or a press release.

It is quite disheartening that some individuals would sketch out plans to defraud hard working Nigerians of their labor.
We are making frantic efforts through appropriate means to ensure those involved in this act are apprehended and face the music.

A few days ago, we also reported that Operatives of EFCC has detained one Osigbovo from Benin, Edo State who had reportedly been impersonating Nollywood actor, Mike Ezuruonye.
The arrest of the suspect came after Mike Ezuruonye, petitioned the police over impersonators who have been running down his brand by duping unsuspecting fans.
